Meet people where they are.
Not everyone has an app, a laptop or the confidence to use them. Everyone has a voice. Alix works through simple conversation, voice notes and translation, so the service fits the person rather than the other way round.
Empower the people doing the work.
Frontline staff did not sign up for data entry. Alix takes the paperwork, the chasing and the retyping, and gives back time for judgement, care and craft.
Evidence, not anecdote.
Every report, photo, decision and message is captured as it happens. When the auditor, the ombudsman or the court asks what you did and when, the answer is already written.
Our story
Alix began with a question: how do we build an inclusive vision of AI-enabled housing that serves the people who live and work in those homes?
Funded by the Big Issue, we started by rethinking how people with limited digital confidence could access best in class services, whether they were residents or frontline workers. We spent our time listening. Residents told us what really matters: a safe, well-maintained home, and a community around it. So we set about building a human-centric way of delivering exactly that.
The first place we put it to work was one of the hardest problems in social housing: damp and mould. When Awaab’s Law set the clock ticking on hazard response times, providers faced an impossible equation. Thousands of homes, a handful of surveyors, and days lost to every site visit and write-up. Alix let residents show the problem the moment they reported it, through WhatsApp, with photos, videos and voice notes, triaged by AI in minutes.
Working with Peabody, Aster Group and Golding Homes, we learned something bigger. The site visit is not just a damp and mould bottleneck. It is the bottleneck in almost every property process: repairs, disrepair claims, void checks, pre-tenancy inspections. And the people carrying that load, on both sides of the front door, deserve better.
So that is what we build now: remote inspection for everyone who lives in, looks after, or works on property. Housing associations. DLOs. Surveyors. Contractors.
Alix means fewer journeys, faster answers, and more time for the work that actually needs a human.
